The Archetype features a large 11.5" x 9.5" surface area, it has a double sided surface sheet with coarse or smooth textures, the base is machine milled from aluminum, and lastly a mouse clip is included. • Larger Surface Area -The new Archetype design has a large 11.5" x 9.5" surface area. Plenty of space to let your mouse roam free.
• Double Sided Surface - A double sided surface sheet offers maximum choice and flexibility. Reversible surface sheet has two unique textures to accommodate your preference, both designed to provide exceptionally precise tracking of your optical or laser mouse
• Machine Billeted Aluminum -The base component, which holds the mousing surface in place, is made from Machined Billet Aluminum. Both bases also incorporate 'finger holes' which allow you to quickly and easily flip the surface sheet over.
• Mouse-Clip - Keeping that pesky cord out of your way! The new (and improved) mouse cord clip is made from a higher-grade plastic and grips the base better than ever. Mouse-clip connects at one of two locations which accommodates both left and right-handed users

This does not mean you have to go out and spend $40 on a mouse pad, but if you do you should be sure to choose a pad with substance, not just style. A lot of expensive mousing surfaces are just about implenting a new idea or unique design and don't have anywhere near the pedigree of the Archetype MBA. This pad combines a cool aluminum base with fUnc's surfaces.
