CrazyPC Blue EL Neon Wire Kit - Looking for a creative way to light up your computer? Our EL Neon Wire Kits can be used to create a variety of unique lighting mods for your computer. Each kit comes with a 6ft strand of electroluminescent wire, and 12 Volt DC power inverter. The inverter connects to an available 4pin Molex connector found on standard ATX power supplies. The inverter has an on/off switch and a flashing function (the lights blink on/off). EL Wire is flexible and can be bent into different shapes. Use it to create your own designs, trim lighting, keyboard lighting, and anything else you can imagine!

Creative Ideas

EL Neon Wire is a do-it-yourself product. Here are some thought starters for how it might be used:

• Use it as a trim lighting around a window mod on your computer case.
• Bend and shape it to form your own unique artwork (stars, diamonds, cartoon drawings, letters, etc)
• Use it on a keyboard to create your own lighted keyboard mod! (requires 3mm clearance for keys).
• Wind the EL wire around a cable to create your own lighted cable mod!

Short How To

EL Wire does not hold it's shape on it's own. For designs such as letters, logos, artwork, symbols we recommend one of the following techniques:

• Use a backing wire such as a brass wire. We recommend a 16 gauge soft brass wire. Brass wire is easily bent and shaped. Bend the wire to form your desired shape.Then use small semi-transparent cable ties to fasten the EL wire to the brass wire. To block out a section of the EL wire you can use black electrical tape or acrylic paint.
• Use hot glue! Glue guns are inexpensive and it's an easy way to adhere the wire to just about anything.
• Round a 3mm grove in a panel and lay the wire in the groove. Then form your own EL Neon Wire signs!
